Five lucky citizens enjoyed Memorial Day flyover

Date:

A military C-147 built in 1944 provided an exciting adventure for five lucky Coachella Valley residents.  Councilman Adam Sanchez and Planning Commissioner Michael Burke were joined by Francoise Rhodes and David and Tricia Breyman.  The C-147 was piloted by Captain Jon Goldenbaum and Second Officer Les Salz.  Atlantic Aviation Services assisted with the preflight set up.

Councilman Adam Sanchez said it was an honor to participate in today’s Memorial Day ceremony dedicated to all American Veterans who have served our country proudly.  Councilman Sanchez added that a special thank you goes to the Desert Hot Springs Community and Cultural Affairs Commission for planning the Memorial Day event.

All proceeds from the Memorial Day flyover benefits the Marine Corps Junior ROTC Program which was established at Desert Hot Springs High School during 2000.  It is the only Marine JROTC Program in the entire Coachella Valley.  Lieutenant Colonel Carl Andrew Lewke, US Marine Corps (Ret) is the Senior Marine Instructor.

All donations to the MCJROTC Program are tax-deductible, and a Federal Tax Identification Number is available upon request.  If you would like to help us provide a first-class educational experience to the Marine cadets in Desert Hot Springs High School, make your check out to “DHSHS MCJROTC” and mail the paperwork to:
