The Desert Blind and Handicapped Association held a Fall Garden Party at Copleys in Palm Springs on Oct. 5th. A reception of refreshments and Hors d’ oeuvres was held prior to a fantastic style show of unique designs. Brian Wanzek, aka, Bella da Ball, did a wonderful job as the emcee for the afternoon presenting each fur, jacket or gown in the show.

The wearable fine art fashions were designed by Lon Michels with jewelry by Alex Hunter. Lon takes furs and fabrics and paints them with the most beautiful designs and makes them into wearable fashions. Celebrity models included Melissa Ballard, Cindy Ferris, Albert Gonzales, Dr. Raila Horne, Barbara and Jerry Keller, Rose King, Brenda Lynn Martin, Michelle Michou, Bianca Rae, Willie Rhine, Charlene Robbins, Grace Robbins, Sara Rogers, Laurie Wietz, Theresa Rogers, and Angela Romero.

Many of the fashions were sold that day as OOHs and AAHS were heard from the guests. A portion of each sale would go to the Desert Blind and Handicapped Association Charity. George Holliday, president and Treasurer of the Board, was so excited to be able to host this fun and fashionable style show and thanked Copleys for hosting the event. Cocktail hour entertainment was provided by Ray Kelley, Jon Dalton and Constana Gordy.
