Story and report By Bruce Montgomery- A press conference was held in the Henry Lozano Center in Desert Hot Springs at 3:00 p.m on Friday, February 22, 2013 – the day Marine Corporal Henry Vellore Lozano’s killer was sentenced to death.
He had recently been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the Dec. 21, 1994, death of 17-year-old Jahi Collins and the attempted murder of Bobby Wilson shooting at Wardman Park in Desert Hot Springs in 1994.
After an official press release by Desert Hot Springs Police Commander Ken Peary the mothers of both Jahi and Henry spoke to friends, family and city leaders gathered for the press conference. Closing remarks were given by City Manager Rick Daniels.
