A fundraising party for the 2013 election campaigns of Desert Hot Springs mayor Yvonne Parks, mayor pro tem Scott Matas and councilwoman Jan Pye was held in a private residence on Wednesday night, April 17.
The host provided an excellent ambiance and delicious food to the invited guests, who had a fun evening kicking off the 2013 campaign for the three Desert Hot Springs elected council members up for election in November.
Mayor Parks, Mayor pro tem Scott Matas, and councilwoman Jan Pye reflected back on the achievements of the current city council, and stressed the need for continuity to keep the forward momentum the city is currently enjoying.
It was a refreshingly positive evening, with the three most recent council meetings being cited as an evidence of how the current five member council is working together. Hopefully the campaign will continue to be positive after other candidates through their hats in the ring.
