A virtuoso British violinist has picked up the title of the world’s fastest human for his rendition of “The Flight of the Bumblebee” performed on his electric violin at the speed of fifteen notes per second.

Judges for the Discovery Channel program ‘Superhuman Showdown’ had to recover their breath to unanimously declare Ben Lee the fastest man on earth. The 32-year-old fiddler, who is part of a two-piece violin band Fuse, managed to beat a base jumper, a speed eater, and a shooter.

“It’s taken tens of thousands of hours of practice to reach this speed,” the musician based in East Sussex later explained.

“I’ve been challenging myself to play as fast as I can since I was five. I can only get faster from here,” the quickest man on the planet added.
